Since Altoona pays close attention to the changes and demands of the market, it constantly invests part of its resources into research and development.
This ongoing commitment ensures that the company can come up with innovative designs to remain highly competitive on the market and be able to set new industry standards for technology and quality.
Altoona’s new products are both innovative and reliable, thanks to careful studies of the needs of the market and the use of the latest electronics technology.
- Diagnostic controller: this new feature designed by Altoona uses feedback from the display to check the operation of each single pixel in real time and to signal any malfunctions that occur. The system also allows the user to modify display settings from a remote location.
- 16-bit color: data is managed by a control rack which generates 16-bit color for crisp, high-quality images.
- Advanced automatic color control: thanks to the advanced electronics of Altoona led displays, color balance, brightness and contrast are adjusted automatically to suit ambient light, thus maximizing the performance of the display in any situation.
Very often, it is the details of a product that make the difference. The over 20 years of experience acquired by Altoona in this specific hi-tech sector enables the company to develop innovative technological solutions. This is also made possible by ongoing investments in research and development, which enable Altoona to closely track the latest developments in technology and to apply such technology to its products.
The end result are products that give a new dimension to visual communication.
- Brightness: Altoona customers enjoy images of the very highest quality because the brightness of each primary color (red, green and blue) is independently controlled. Also, the LEDs used by Altoona in its displays are the finest available on the market and are carefully selected to obtain unbeatable uniformity over the entire surface. As compared with normal screens, Altoona technology provides better colors, greater brightness and consistent uniformity at all points on the led display.
- 3-in-1 SMD chips: Many Altoona products use today’s new 3-in-1 chip technology, which offers important optical advantages such as a wider viewing angle, color mixed at each point, and improved uniformity over the viewing angle.
- Dynamic pixel system: The video data for each pixel is controlled individually. By superimposing each pixel with its neighbor, the system creates what is called a "dynamic pixel". With the dynamic pixel, a resolution that appears four times higher is created, which results in images with greater detail.
- Uniform current distribution: A system developed by Altoona guarantees uniform current along the entire surface, so that colors are more homogeneous over the entire illuminated area.
To take maximum advantage of the potential of LED displays in the field of communication, Altoona has developed a number of control software packages which are chosen to suit the type of application: advertising, sports and live events. Each package offers the utmost in flexibility and simplicity in use.
Altoona software can produce a perfect image from any type of signal, pre-recorded video file or live video file, thanks to an advanced color calibration system
» Altoona Day-Plan software: Altoona Day-Plan is a software package that was specifically developed for advertising applications. It displays video files, graphic files and live video according to a list which can be programed in advance or sent in real time. You can also superimpose - on any file - information such as date, time, temperature, and animated or suitably customized logos. And, Altoona Day-Plan software can create banners for displaying informational text in real time.
» Altoona Live software: Altoona Live was specially developed for shows and live events. Its strong point is that it can divide up the surface of the display so that different files can be displayed at the same time.
» Altoona AD-Line software: Altoona Ad Line was exclusively developed by Altoona for sideline applications. It is based on the principle that sideline displays have a large number of horizontal pixels, but relatively fewer vertical pixels. This highly flexible software can show animation and be modified at any time during the event.
